First Published CD!!!

Today, we got a copy of the Sean Dockery "Sojourns" CD. This is a CD that about 15 of the kids from Clark County Children's Choir got the opportunity to perform some of the vocals for three of the songs that made it onto the recording. They met once a week for a couple of months learning the three pary harmony's in Solfa. After learning their parts (Hannah was in the soprano section, and Kelsea in the second soprano section) they got to go to a recording studio to do the actual recording. There was one song, March of the Highlands, that had an extreamly high solo part, and the composer chose Hannah to perform it. This is an actual, commercially avaliable, CD - not like the ones we make of the kids in their concerts, or even the demo CD we are putting together for Crescendo, the CCCC auditioned choir. While their part is fairly small, they are still excited to be able to be a part of this. They had a blast at the recording studio.

The composer's website is: http://www.seandockery.com/, and on the site homepage, Hannah is the solo in the snippit with the bagpipes. Both she and Kelsea, as well as the rest of the CCCC group are the choir voices in one of the other snippits, singing in Latin. On our PC with Internet Explorer, the song's didn't load correctly, so they sound like chipmonks, but on the Mac with Safari, the sound comes up just as it should. If you go there to hear the kids, and it doesn't come up right, please don't think that they really sound like that! The rest of the CD is great - sort of Enya-esque. It is for sale on his website, and is worth the price - he even includes shipping.
